Here is a letter from Dr. David Walton to Ivor Catt dated 27 May 1976, followed by 16 pages written by Ivor Catt on the same day. The letter refers to a telephone conversation on Wednesday 26 May 1976, the day when the discovery of “Theory C” was made. Dave Walton’s letter links the transformer with crosstalk. Independently on the same day, on his fourth page, Catt linked the transformer with crosstalk. Discovery of Theory C ran in parallel with the realisation that a capacitor was a transmission line, (and later that other components were). It was an extraordinary 24 hours or so.
