ACTP

Ivor Catt evaded sabotage of “Catt Spiral” by the NRDC by getting £1,000 from them and then asking for another government department. After a delay of a few years, “Catt Spiral” migrated to another government department called ACTP, “Advanced Computer Technology Project”. (It had to change its rules to accommodate Catt Spiral.) E A (Ted) Newman, representing ACTP, supported Catt Spiral and Catt’s “Property 1a”, much to his cost. RSRE Malvern, Middlesex University and Brunel University received more than £50,000 government research money for Catt Spiral and Catt’s “Property 1a” to the tune of more than £300,000 in today’s (2021) values.

Newman’s friend was the head of the British Library. Catt and his electromagnetism colleague Malcolm Davidson visited Ted in NPL to ask him to get his friend to give us a quarter inch of shelf space in British Library. Since we were prevented from publishing our electromagnetic theory anywhere by the academic peer review mafia, we feared our advances in electromagnetism would be lost on our death. This was probably because Randal of Newcastle University and Aspinal of Swansea University were the peer reviewers, but were recipients of the available WSI government money, and would be wise to not even understand Catt Spiral, and so dilute their share of the research money available.
